NICK CROWLEY

Ballet & Gymnastics Teacher

Nick’s dance training started as a very young boy. Not wanting to miss out on the opportunities given to his older sister, he demanded that he should also be taken to ballet class! His love of dance and performing arts then grew into his teenage years, inspired by watching and performing in musicals and dancing multiple times with the National English Youth Ballet. At 18, Nick got a scholarship to train in Musical Theatre at the Urdang Academy, where he studied in London. Since then, Nick has been performing as well as teaching, with some highlights including touring China, performing at the O2 Arena, Pantomimes, dancing with Jason Gardner for ITV and even a short time in a pop group with a song in the top 100! Now teaching, Nick is keen to pass on the physical skills, artistic insight, and opportunities that performing have given him over the years, to the next generation.

JAMIE BAKER

Street Dance and Gymnastics Assistant

Jamie has been with OSPA since it’s opening in late 2014. Before OSPA Jamie was a teen student stuck in a repetitive cycle where he was not encouraged or pushed to continue his path within the arts - at this point it was still a hobby to Jamie and he lacked focus.

When Jamie joined OSPA as a student, he was encouraged more than he'd ever been to pursue a career in the arts and given the opportunities and knowledge to strive for his dream.

Fast forward to 2021, Jamie is no longer a student but a qualified IDTA teacher with a University Degree in Diverse Dance Styles.

Jamie feels proud to be able to teach alongside his mentors and be able to now be that role model for the next generation of OSPA students.

Along side his teaching and coaching he is a 5 time National Street Dance Champion and continues to perform as a dancer in the industry.
